My work is very emotional
in nature. Often I find creating a given piece very cathartic.
I believe that with regard to my sculptures each person brings
their own emotions to the interpretation of them based on
the subject. I am often asked about the wings found on many
of my pieces. It occurs to me that the sculpture that had
the greatest impact on me in my childhood was the Winged Victory.
I stood spellbound for many minutes as a ten year old at the
bottom of her staircase in the Louvre. I have carried her
image in my heart since. Wings are important to me. I feel
like the human spirit implies wings. I feel as if all beings
have wings, you just can't always see them.
